Last updated: 26/10/2026

Welcome to Cura Dental. These Terms & Conditions explain how our website, online booking services, payments and certain aspects of our dental services operate.

We aim to provide clear, transparent information so that patients understand what to expect when using our website or accessing our services.

Please read these terms carefully. Additional terms may apply to specific treatments, membership plans or finance arrangements, and these will be explained where relevant.

1. About Cura Dental

Cura Dental provides NHS and private dental care, including general, preventive and restorative dentistry.

2. Use of Our Website

Our website provides information about Cura Dental, our dental services, treatment options, fees, membership arrangements and ways to contact or book appointments with us.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information published on our website is accurate and up to date. However, treatment options, prices, appointment availability and other information may change.

Information provided on our website is intended for general guidance and should not replace an individual dental examination, diagnosis or professional clinical advice.

Treatment recommendations and costs will be discussed with patients following an appropriate clinical assessment.

We may update, amend or temporarily suspend parts of our website where necessary.

3. Online Appointment Bookings

Patients can book certain appointments online using our Dentally patient booking portal.

Appointment availability displayed through the portal is subject to the practice’s scheduling arrangements.

Patients are responsible for providing accurate contact information when making a booking and should notify the practice if their details change.

We may contact patients regarding their appointments by telephone, text message or email, depending on their recorded communication preferences.

Private Appointments

Certain private appointments booked online require a deposit at the time of booking.

Online payments are processed securely through Stripe, our payment processing provider.

Any remaining balance for the appointment or treatment will be payable in accordance with the payment arrangements explained by the practice.

NHS Appointments

NHS appointments may be booked through our online booking system where available.

Patients are not required to make an online payment when booking NHS appointments through our portal.

Any applicable NHS dental charges will be explained in accordance with the relevant NHS charging arrangements.

Booking an appointment online does not guarantee eligibility for NHS treatment or exemption from NHS charges.

4. Appointment Deposits, Cancellations and Missed Appointments

We understand that patients occasionally need to cancel or rearrange appointments.

We kindly ask that patients provide at least 24 hours’ notice wherever possible, allowing us to offer the appointment to another patient.

Online Booking Deposits

Deposits paid when booking private appointments online are used to secure the appointment.

Where a patient fails to attend their appointment or cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice, the practice may retain the booking deposit.

Any amount retained will be reasonable and proportionate to the circumstances, taking account of the practice’s losses and applicable consumer law.

Missed and Failed Appointments

An appointment may be considered a failed appointment where:

  • A patient does not attend their scheduled appointment.
  • A patient arrives more than 10 minutes late and the appointment cannot be completed.
  • A patient cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice, preventing the appointment from being offered to another patient.

Longer Appointments

Appointments lasting more than 20 minutes, particularly treatment appointments, may be recorded as two failed appointments (FTAs) if a patient fails to attend or cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice.

This reflects the additional clinical time reserved for the patient and the impact that missed or late-cancelled appointments can have on other patients requiring dental care.

Repeated Failed Appointments

Following a first failed appointment, the incident will be recorded in the patient’s records, and the patient may be reminded of our attendance policy.

Where a patient accumulates two failed appointments within a 24-month period, the practice may review their attendance history and consider appropriate arrangements for future bookings.

These may include requiring payment in advance, restricting future bookings or reviewing the patient’s ongoing registration or care arrangements, subject to applicable NHS requirements and our professional obligations.

Any decision will be made following a review by the Practice Manager and/or Principal Dentist.

Illness and Exceptional Circumstances

We recognise that unexpected circumstances can arise.

Patients experiencing symptoms of a stomach bug or respiratory illness, including COVID-19, should contact the practice to rearrange their appointment. Our normal cancellation notice period will not apply in these circumstances.

Patients with an active cold sore should also contact the practice regarding non-emergency treatment. Our existing Cold Sore Policy provides that late cancellation charges will not apply where an appointment is cancelled due to a cold sore.

We will also consider relevant medical conditions, disabilities, vulnerabilities, exceptional circumstances and reasonable adjustments when reviewing missed appointments or cancellations.

Cancellation with sufficient notice: Where a patient provides at least 24 hours’ notice to rearrange an appointment, their deposit may be transferred to their new appointment. Where the patient wishes to cancel rather than rearrange, a refund will be provided in accordance with our refund policy.

5. Treatment Plans, Fees and Payments

We are committed to providing patients with clear information about their dental treatment and associated costs.

Before treatment begins, we will explain the recommended treatment options, relevant costs and available alternatives.

Written treatment plans and estimates will be provided where appropriate or upon request, in accordance with our practice policies.

Patients will be advised of any significant changes to their proposed treatment or associated costs.

Private Dental Treatment

Private treatment fees will be explained before treatment begins.

Patients may be required to make payments in advance or at agreed stages of treatment.

We accept major debit and credit cards and other payment methods available at the practice.

NHS Dental Treatment

NHS dental charges are determined by the applicable NHS charging arrangements.

Patients who qualify for free or reduced-cost NHS treatment may be required to provide evidence of their eligibility.

Patients are responsible for ensuring that information supplied regarding NHS exemptions is accurate.

Outstanding Payments

Patients are responsible for paying agreed treatment fees when due.

Where payments remain outstanding, we may contact patients to request payment and discuss arrangements for settling their account.

Any further action will be taken in accordance with our payment policies, applicable law and professional obligations.

6. Treatment Cancellations, Laboratory Fees and Refunds

Some dental treatments require materials, appliances or laboratory work to be prepared specifically for an individual patient.

Examples include crowns, bridges and dentures.

Where a patient chooses to cancel or discontinue treatment, we will review any payments already made, treatment provided and costs reasonably incurred.

Laboratory Work

Where laboratory work has already commenced or been completed, the practice may retain a reasonable proportion of payments received to cover laboratory costs already incurred.

Any remaining amount due for treatment not provided will be considered for refund in accordance with our Payment & Refund Policy and applicable consumer law.

Patients will be informed of relevant treatment costs and payment arrangements before treatment begins.

[PENDING DIRECTOR APPROVAL: Confirm the exact circumstances in which laboratory costs are retained, how refunds are calculated and whether any non-recoverable laboratory costs are explained to patients before treatment.]

Refunds

Refund requests should be made to the practice in writing, either by email or post.

Our existing Payment & Refund Policy provides for refunds to be processed within 14 days of receiving a written request, subject to the circumstances of the treatment and any applicable costs.

Where possible, refunds will be made using the original payment method.

Nothing in these terms affects a patient’s statutory consumer rights.

7. Cura Care Banding System

Where a treatment is unsuitable or an alternative is recommended, the dentist will explain the available options and any associated costs.

8. Denplan Membership

Cura Dental offers Denplan Essentials, a dental payment plan designed to help patients spread the cost of routine preventive dental care through affordable monthly payments.

We offer three membership options, allowing patients to choose the number of hygiene visits that best suits their needs.

Our Denplan Essentials Plans

Plan Included Annual Appointments Monthly Cost
Plan 1 2 dental examinations and 2 hygiene visits £18.16
Plan 2 2 dental examinations and 3 hygiene visits £23.33
Plan 3 2 dental examinations and 4 hygiene visits £31.33

Membership includes routine preventive dental care in accordance with the patient’s selected plan and the applicable Denplan Essentials agreement.

Treatments Not Included

Denplan Essentials does not generally cover restorative treatments such as fillings, crowns, bridges or dentures, laboratory fees, specialist referrals, orthodontics, implants or cosmetic treatment.

Any treatment not covered by the patient’s membership will be discussed and charged separately.

Appointments and Cancellations

Denplan members are expected to attend their scheduled appointments and provide at least 24 hours’ notice if they need to cancel or rearrange.

Cura Dental’s general cancellation and failed-to-attend policy applies to Denplan members where consistent with their membership agreement.

Any missed appointment charges or consequences will be subject to the applicable Denplan Essentials contract and Cura Dental’s published practice policies.

Membership Terms

Membership payments are collected monthly by Direct Debit through Denplan.

Patients should review the full Denplan Essentials Terms & Conditions before joining, including the provisions relating to membership payments, changes, cancellation and treatment exclusions.

Patients can view the available plans and register through our dedicated Denplan enrolment page:

https://signup.denplan.co.uk/universal/cura-dental

The Denplan Essentials contract is between the patient and Cura Dental, with Denplan providing administrative and payment collection services.

9. Patient Finance Through Tabeo

Cura Dental offers eligible patients the option to apply for treatment finance through Tabeo.

Finance is intended to help patients spread the cost of qualifying private dental treatment, subject to the finance options available.

Applications may involve eligibility assessments and credit checks carried out by the relevant finance provider or lender.

Finance approval is not guaranteed.

Any finance agreement will be subject to separate terms, including applicable repayment arrangements, interest rates, charges and eligibility criteria, as disclosed by the finance provider.

Patients should carefully review the finance documentation before entering into an agreement.

Cura Dental does not determine the outcome of individual credit applications.

10. Treatment Decisions and Patient Consent

At Cura Dental, we aim to involve patients in decisions about their dental care.

Before treatment, we will explain relevant treatment options, anticipated benefits, material risks and alternatives so that patients can make informed decisions.

Patients may ask questions about their treatment and request clarification of any information they do not understand.

Treatment will be provided only where appropriate consent has been obtained.

Patients should inform the dental team of relevant changes to their medical history, medications or other circumstances that may affect their treatment.

No particular clinical outcome can be guaranteed, as treatment results depend on individual circumstances.

This does not affect our responsibility to provide care in accordance with applicable professional standards.

11. Emergency Dental Care

Patients experiencing dental pain, swelling, trauma or other urgent dental concerns should contact the practice for advice.

We will assess the information provided and determine the appropriate next steps, taking account of clinical urgency and appointment availability.

Where necessary, patients may be referred to another appropriate service.

Outside normal practice hours, patients can access urgent dental advice through NHS 111.

For a life-threatening medical emergency, call 999.

12. Patient Conduct and Respect

We are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for patients, visitors and members of our dental team.

We do not tolerate threatening, abusive, violent, discriminatory or sexually harassing behaviour.

Where serious incidents occur, we may take appropriate action in accordance with our Zero Tolerance Policy, professional responsibilities and applicable NHS requirements.

13. Complaints and Feedback

At Cura Dental, we are committed to providing high-quality dental care and welcome feedback from our patients.

We take all complaints seriously and aim to address concerns fairly, professionally and promptly.

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our services, please contact the practice so that we can investigate your concerns and work towards a resolution.

Complaints may be made verbally, in writing or by email.

Our designated Complaints Lead is Rachael Ulett-Waul.

We aim to acknowledge complaints within three working days and make every effort to resolve them within ten working days of acknowledgement.

Where further investigation is necessary, we will explain the reason for any delay and agree an updated timescale.

Patients who remain dissatisfied may be able to contact an appropriate independent organisation, depending on whether their treatment was provided privately or through the NHS.
